After school tutoring

Tasks: Assess target group. Find out what the current level of knowledge is concerning your topic. Start at that level and see how the first lesson goes. Adjust anything which might improve getting the information across any possible cultural boundaries. Try to get a steady group of people to join your tutoring. Prepare for each gathering. How many gatherings occur during the week depends on interest and possible different age groups. Any (art)material or furniture used during the day needs to be cleaned, counted and put back in its original place.

Working hours: 3.00 pm - 5.00 pm
Any preparations and planning can be made in the conference room (if Ghanaians do not see you working they think you are sleeping ;-)).

Language: The staff and teenagers speak English but some of your ‘students’ may only speak TWI, the local language. We ask you to speak English during your tutoring so they can learn along the way.

Contact person: Kwabena knows day to day things like where to find materials and how to assess interest within the community. Concerning the content of your project you will be quite self-reliant unless anyone of the staff has experience in your field of expertise. Regarding food and accomodation Adwoa is the person to talk to. Marlieke will stay in touch through email.

For adults courses can be held after lunch. For school children after school.
